Volunteers

Stittsville is a community of caring volunteers. Residents are actively involved with sports groups, religious institutions, schools, local community associations, the food bank, historical and horticultural groups, the Granite Ridge Long Term Care Centre and much more.

The Stittsville Village Association (SVA) is a direct result of the spirit of volunteerism in our community. The SVA speaks on behalf of our community to the City of Ottawa, organizes community events, and provides communication to our residents on local issues.

The SVA always needs and welcomes new volunteers, both adults and students.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Assisting with special community events like Canada Day, Villagefest (October), Winterfest (February), Art-in-the-Park (July) and the Parade of Lights (December)

  • Serving on the SVA Executive Committee

  • Attending our public meetings on the second Thursday of each month.

Special volunteer talents are also always welcome for fundraising, website management and for leading the organization of one of our community events.

Students can earn volunteer hours through the Stittsville Village Association at community events and other SVA activities, or through other community organizations such as the Goulbourn Rotary Club. Check our web site for upcoming events and sign up to help. Students will not only be assisting their community, but they will also receive a letter from the SVA acknowledging their volunteer contribution.

We are all volunteers working for our community. To help us welcome you as a new (or returning) volunteer with the SVA, please contact:
