Our Story
“A community voice for Stittsville residents — bringing people together since 2001.”
Stittsville Village Association is a diverse group of volunteers, composed of established and new residents and business owners from within the community. The association organizes annual village events which include the holiday Parade of Lights, Canada Day, Arts in the Park and Music and Movies in the Park. We are actively engaged in the community, working with local organizations, schools, and local government. You will find us at community events, including: Clean up the Capital, the Stittsville Multicultural Festival and Out in the Park (West Side Pride). We host town halls for local governmental discussions. Our Stittsville Walking Group is another initiative that we continue to assist and support. Walkers meet every Monday and Friday at Johnny Leroux arena to walk on a safe surface, connect with other community members, and stay active. We offer financial support and sponsorship within our community. We support the Stittsville Business Association's hanging flower project on Main Street to enhance the vibrancy and charm of our village. We offer a volunteer scholarship to one graduating student of each of the local high school each year. In the past, we have offered bursaries and sponsorships to local athletes We also engage with other local organizations and municipal councillors to support and advocate for issues that are important to our growing community, including planning and development, youth and seniors issues. We hold a monthly meeting, which is open to the public, on the first Thursday of every month. We are inclusive and welcome all members of our community.
