About this Event

Join us on Saturday, December 5, 2026 for Stittsville's Parade of Lights

Are you wondering what local businesses you can support, find activities for your children or discover valuable services you may be interested in joining yourself? Are you looking to start your Christmas season with getting into the spirit of Christmas? The Parade of Lights is just for you.

Each year on the first Saturday of December, with the support of our largest sponsor of the parade, Minto Homes, the Stitsville Village Association lights up Main Street in Stittsville with our Parade of Lights. Prior to the event the SVA can be found at Village Square, handing out hot chocolate and cookies, while the Military Wives Choir and the Grace Baptist Church Choir sing Christmas music for their local audience with bringing the spirit of Christmas to our village as we build community over the holidays.

The parade kicks off at Browns Independent where approximately 50 floats and countless local volunteers meet to finalize their remarkable displays. The floats and walkers are provided by a wide range of local businesses, not-for-profits and community leaders as a thank you to the community who supports them each year. The Stittsville Lions Club continue the tradition of walking along the parade route to collect donations of non-perishable food items and cash for the Stittsville Food Bank. Please consider coming prepared to assist with their considerable cause that helps so many in our community.

The parade is broadcasted with the generous support of isiLive, so it can be watched from home for those who are unable to attend. After the parade, the park is filled with volunteers. The scouts can be visited at their bonfire just down from the train station, the SVA will be present handing out snacks and hot chocolate, local artists and choirs continue to provide music and when Santa arrives, there is a countdown to the lighting of the park!

This event could not be possible without our countless volunteers from our local high schools, community members and the organization of the SVA. Thank you to Papa Johns for donating pizza to keep nearly 80 volunteers fed at this event. If you would like to volunteer to assist with this event, please reach out to the SVA at stittsvillevillage@gmail.com. Come be a part of the community as we welcome the Christmas season and keep the village spirit growing.

With Gratitude
