Our Volunteers
The dedicated people who make Stittsville's events possible.

About our Volunteers
We are volunteer run and rely on our community to help us host our four major events throughout the year. We partner with local schools to offer students community service hours and they receive meaningful experience serving the community. Additionally, we see families and friends volunteer together where they can enjoy shared experience that is fun and rewarding.
The Stittsville Village Association honours the spirit of volunteering and supports the youth in the community by offering a Volunteer Award. This bursary goes to “a student who is actively involved in their community, both within the school and beyond.” We are proud to offer this award to a student from this year’s graduating class at Sacred Heart, Paul Demarais, Frederick Banting and South Carleton High Schools.

Paint It Up! Mural Project
The Stittsville Village Association, in partnership with Birdgirl Arts and Pretty Pots, were awarded funding from the City of Ottawa for The Paint It Up! Mural project. This exciting project is taking place summer of 2026.
Field notes from Stittsville is a vibrant, contemporary mural led by local artist Sasha Jimenez French from Birdgirl Arts in collaboration with youth artists in the community. Inspired by flora, fauna and familiar landmarks that define Stittsville, including the TransCanada Trail as a visual thread connecting us all, the mural will read like an illustrated field journal of the village today.
Youth participants will receive hands-on-training in mural design, community engagement and large-scale painting techniques. They will contribute to concept development, public engagement activities, and final installation while gaining practical artistic skills and meaningful professional experience.
The completed mural will serve as a colourful, playful landmark that reflects a growing and diverse community, celebrating both the natural landscape and the people actively shaping the village we call home.
